As part of the commemoration of World Homeless Day, observed on 10 October annually, the Community, Arts, and Culture Development Department's Region 1 Branch, which serves the City's northern area, hosted an outreach event at Bothasig Community Hall on 23 October 2026. 

The event aimed to create awareness around homelessness, promote dignity and inclusion, and connect rough sleepers with vital resources and opportunities available within the community.

Various partner organisations attended to showcase their services, including Health screenings and wellness services, social support and counselling services, Information on shelter and housing support, substance abuse support and referrals, Identity document and social assistance guidance and community outreach and support services.
